2 months & Blessing!

Happy 4th of July! We celebrated with some friends that invited us to a BBQ at their home and had a great time! We then watched the BC fireworks from the street in front of our house. I was surprised at how much we could see! It was a fun and quiet 4th for us!

Festive little Hazer bug!

On June 26th Vance blessed our little guy. Vance gave him a wonderful blessing. We blessed him a week earlier than we had originally planned since it was a holiday weekend and some of our family would be out of town then. Vance's uncle Kent was in town from Arizona so it all worked out perfectly! It was pretty neat to see all of our friends a family who love and support us! We had a fun little party after the blessing at my grandma's house!

Hazen is now 2 months old! Time has seriously flown by so quickly for me. It's hard for me to think that i will be returning to work next week. I'm excited to see my clients. I love my career, but i have enjoyed staying home with my little man for the last 9 weeks! Hazen got to go swimming in grandpa Santos' pool for his 2 month party! He loved it. he was so content and happy to be in the water!

We took Hazen in today for his 2 month cheek-up and shots. I didn't think i would have a hard time with his shots since he did really well when he got circumcised. I was with him then and he only cried when he didn't have his bink in his mouth. When he got his shots today though he looked at me with the saddest face before screaming and i burst into tears. Vance did as well....because he was laughing so hard at me crying! (Mean daddy! ;] ) Hazen was fine as soon as i picked him up. He was super happy when we got home and has done great this evening. Hopefully things continue to go smoothly tonight! Wish us luck!

Hazen's Birth Story

My water broke around 6:45 a.m. on monday May 2, 2011. (38 weeks & 5 days) I had got out of bed and went to the bathroom and went and got back in bed. As i laid back down i felt liquid seeping out. I knew i had just gone potty so i woke up Vance and told him i though my water had broke. He had a second of panic and asked what we should do. I told him to call the hospital and see what they wanted us to do since i wasn't having any contractions i didn't know if we should wait or just get down there. The hospital wanted us to come down. I decided i wanted to get in the shower and do my hair and put on my makeup first! Ha. (I figured i wasn't in any hurry so i could at least feel like i looked decent!) While i was in the shower Vance notified everyone on facebook that my water had broke. Even before he called either of our parents! Nerd! When i was ready we grabbed our bags and went to my parent's house for dad and Vance to give me a blessing. Then off we went to the hospital. Once i checked in they hooked me up to my IV (which the darn nurse had to do twice and left a nice little puddle of blood on me and the floor) and a monitor for the baby. Dr. Alejo came in and said that he knew i was there and that he would be back to deliver me. (It was a good thing that i went into labor since he had canceled clinic that day due to his wife having a baby the day before. I would have missed my appointment with him that night at 6:40) Every thing looked good and i was moved to a room for the long haul. I was hooked up to pitocin and i received my epidural once i was dilated to about 5cm. (If i didn't get it then i would have to wait until the triplets down the hall were born since the anesthesiologist would be with them) Things progressed quite nicely and i was quite happy with my Ipad and my phone. :] Sometime near the end i started feeling a pain almost like a charlie horse just below my right butt cheek. We decided that i was feeling contractions there since every time i said it hurt i was having one. The epidural was starting to wear off a little bit since I hadn't been pushing my epi button at all. So the nurses told me to start pushing it every 5 min to get ahead of the pain. I pushed it until i was at my max and could still feel the contractions. The nurses finally had the anesthesiologist come in and give me the booster to my epi and away my pain went. When i was finally dilated to a 10 i sat there for and hour and a half. (rest and descent is the way to go for all of you out there having babies! It made my delivery so easy!) The nurse came in and had me start pushing. I pushed through two contractions and she had me stop so she could get the doctor. Dr. Alejo came in and i pushed for three more contractions. (Hazen's umbilical cord was wrapped around his little neck, but Dr. Alejo just unlooped it and things were as good as new!) Exactly 12 hours after my water broke, at 6:45 p.m. Hazen was born. A beautiful healthy little boy. weighing 7lbs 13 oz and 20 inches long. We love him more than words can express!

We sold our home in Ogden in July of 2010, and moved in with my parents. We had found a house that we thought we loved in Brigham. It was in the North 40 sub division and it seemed perfect! The bad thing was that it was a short sale. After months of waiting, looking at other houses and finding nothing that we wanted, we gave up on the short sale. We decided to build. I have never wanted to build a house. Yes, the thought of having everything new and how i wanted it sounded splendid, but the stress and drama that comes with it i didn't want. (I had been told by numerous people that it was awful to build a house!) We had heard from some friends about Sierra Homes and the wonderful job that they do and we decided to build with them! We choose all of our details and building began. We moved into our new home in February 2011!

Expecting

I am trying to do a little (or alot) of catch up. lets start at the beginning. We had been trying to get pregnant for 9 long months and i had been on fertility medicine for 4 of them. We had monthly visits to the doctor to try to narrow down the right "time" to get pregnant since i have never had a normal cycle. In august I was about a month "late" but didn't want to take a test. since the last 9 months had been full of negatives. I gave in and bought some tests one night and decided i would wait until morning to take them. I hadn't told Vance, because i didn't want him to have to assure me that things would be okay one more time, or tell me that it would happen when it was suppose to. He had alot more faith that things would work out than i did. I just worried! So i got up the next morning and took a test. I sat it on the counter and got in the shower sure that it would read negative. I walked over to the counter and read the results and to my absolute surprise it said Pregnant! I think i about passed out!

I went back to our room and woke up Vance to tell him the news. (any of you who have been around Vance when he is trying to wake up will appreciate this) He groggily said..."What? are you serious? we better get you to a doctor!" he then fell right back to sleep. I was overly excited. We were living with my parents and decided we wouldn't tell anyone until we were 12 weeks along. That plan didn't last long since i got the worst morning sickness! Even with my disease (as i like to call it) we still kept it a secret until October 1 (my parent's anniversary) when we told them while in Park City for confrence weekend. We told Vance's family and all of our friends on Halloween!

We finally made it! Vance & I were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Utah Temple on April 24, 2010! What a week it has been! I went though the Ogden Temple on tuesday to receive my endowments, and Saturday we were sealed! What a wonderful experience to know that i will be with my sweetheart for eternity! :) (A special thanks to all of our family and friends who supported us and loved us no matter what! We love you! )

Catching up!

we are rather boring people! we have not been doing alot other than working hard and playing even harder! This winter we have made a few trips up to bear lake with our families to play in the snow. Vance was sad about having to sell his sled before we got married, but i think now that he has our four wheeler he enjoys it even more! its just a different kind of fun in the snow! Back in January we bought a new truck! :) Vance's nephew bought the the white 01 from us. he practically came and said he wanted it. so it was really nice not to have to try to sell it! Two days after we got the truck we went to bear lake with my family. We loaded our four wheeler onto it's trailer and put my dads in the bed of our truck and off we went. We had barley made it to Wellsville when we heard a huge bang and shattering glass. Vance though we had been hit, i just started to cry! My dads four wheeler had slid into the back of the truck and shattered the window....lets just say that a very long drive was ahead of us, but thanks to a good friend, and Technaglass the window was replaced by the next afternoon and looks better then when we got it!

I have been very bad this summer about keeping up the blog. It just seems like we never stop, between work and our mini vacations to Bear Lake to the cabin and finding time for our friends and families every other weekend we just don't stop! Today while i was at work Vance stayed home so we could recieve our new bedroom set! i have posted some pictures of it and will post some pictures of our other summer doings soon.

We have been crazy as ever the last month! We had some friends from texas come to stay and we took them up to bear lake. Then two weeks later we were off to California for my cousin Breanna's high school graduation! (for those of you who may think this odd, i come from a very small family and we support each other in EVERYTHING!) It was fun to take Vance to the part of Califonia that i come from. He'd been to San Diego before but never to the Bay Area. It was also fun to have him meet my Cousin's and Grandpa since he didn't get to meet them before we got married due to my Grandpa having open heart surgery two weeks before. We even got to San Francisco this trip and made it to Alcatraz for the fist time! We had a good vacation and were sad to leave our wonderful family, but we are glad to be home!

Vance and i went for a ride with my parent's on Memorial day to go visit our families graves. We even made it to Lewiston to Vance's grandpa who recently passed away's home and got some good pictures to preserve the memories that Vance had as a child.

Bear Lake!

New four wheeler = First trip of the season to Bear Lake! We love to just get away for a weekend and bear lake is our place of choice! We had 5 wheelers and 8 people! The mountian's were too muddy but the beach was great! The pictures tell it all! Saturday night everybody but mom and I were down at the docks fishing. Nan called me and told me that Vance had falled through one of them. He came back to the cabin and was in alot of pain but didn't want to go home so we waited until the morning and when we got back to ogden we went to the doctor. Nothing was broken just alot of squished muscle. Nedless to say he is getting better and has a HUGE bruise.

We had a great easter! Saturday before we went to vance's parents house for a party and an easter egg hunt for the kiddies! That night we had some friends over to color eggs. I honestly think it has been 10 years since i've done eggs and it was so fun! We then went to toads and played laser tag. I randomly pulled out my camera while tagging people and got some fun pics! Easter sunday Vance had to work :( but his forman let him come in early so he was off by 3:30 and we headed to brigham for some yummy food and family!

I woke up friday morning to my phone ringing and my sister on the other end saying "Permanent solution has a car in the front window!" Nice way to start off your day off! Ha! So Vance and i got up and threw ourselves together and drove up to Brigham. My biggest concern was if anybody was hurt and thankfully nobody was. I was also worried about the Cordner's since they were in draper with Kelsey at the temple for her big day! Everything worked out and we just ended up with a big mess and some plywood! The front of the store needed to be redone but not necessarially that way!

Yesterday was a bitter sweet day for the Marler family. Jeryl's father, Mckay, returned home to be with his wife. We are thankful that he gets to be with his wife and family again, but he will be missed!

Hair Cuts!

Vance had be growin out his hair for about 4 months. i hated it but let him do his own thing because i do my own thing with mine. I HATED it, but stood by my word that it was his decision what he wanted to do with it. a couple of weeks ago i came home from work and he told me he wanted a haircut. i just about passed out! ha The next day he came to brigham to the salon with me and we cut it off! i now have my handsome husband back! Last friday i got a wild hair and decided i was going to cut all of my hair off as well. I had been growing it out for about 8 months. I've decided that i always just grow my hair out to cut it all off again. I don't like long hair on me, but can never seem to remember that! So i had Jess cut it off and I LOVE it! Thanks Jess!

On monday vance got a phone call from a friend to see if he wanted some free tickets to the Jazz game that night, of course we jumped at the opportunity! (4th row!) We took my mom and sister and had a great time!

On Thursday Night Tiff Tiff and I went to see Rascal Flatts! What a great concert! I absolutly loved it! I'm going to take Vance to it next year!

1. I love crafty things, yet i dont do them often!

15. one of the hardest times in my life was when a close friend committed suicide
16. i love the tv series snapped! vance thinks its because i am secretly planning his murder.

18. i love doc marten shoes. i know the fad is over but they are awesome!
19. i like to do things for other people and help them out but i don't like to be helped myself.
20. i love the winter and all it brings. (snow,holidays,decorations)

22. I'm kind of a pack rat. i have a hard time throwing things away. i MIGHT use it again one day.

24. i love processed cheese. vance calls it "fake" cheese and refuses to eat it

New Year Resolution....

In with the new......
okay so it's really not our new years resolution, but it just seemed to fit. The other night we were sitting on our bed and the laptop decided to topple onto the floor. it was closed and it landed on a pile of my sweatshirts so we didn't think anything of it. when i opened it the next morning that is what i found...well kind of...the pictures above are from after it would only show us the anything in the top left corner. then vance took his wrath out on it. silly boy. it would have cost us more to replace just the screen on the laptop then it would have to buy a new computer. so we decided on the latter and couldn't be happier! I am so in love with our new APPLE!

This year i tuned a whopping 23. I know, i know Vance is a cradle robber! ha The night of my birthday Vance and i went to Salt lake to PF Chang's for dinner! It is my favorite restaurant and to any of you who have not been there i highly recommend it! Saturday we celebrated my birthday with our parents at Union Grill in ogden. we then went to our house for cake and ice cream. I had an excellent birthday, thanks to all of you who made it great!

Ok...so i was tagged with two similar tags! I will just kind of put them together and made it one! :)
(i'm with Heather Bradford on only doing 4 instead of 8. My life just isn't that interesting! ha)

Four of my Quirks:

1. I absolutly hate when people don't use their blinkers! Ahh i can't even explaine it. Vance does not use his some of the time when we are going places and i have to bug him! he does not like when i do that but it's got him using them! (at least when he's with me! )

2. I hate, HATE being woke up! Don't wake me up for ANYTHING (ha ha ha) when i'm woke up i'm not a happy camper. period.

3.No matter where i go or what i'm doing i'm always looking at people's hair. good or bad i like to look at people's hair. sometimes i hate that i do this but i guess it's just a hazard of the trade!

4.I'm a list maker. Packing for a trip, going grocery shopping, things that i need to get done in a day...anything. I make a list. I almost always have one on me!

As a tradition, we go to Odessey Dance's THRILLER every year! To all of you who have never been, I suggest you go! I almost had to drag Vance the frist time we went while we were dating. By the time it was over he was hooked! :) It's so much fun.

Baby Boy!

My Sister in law Melissa Marler (Anthony's Wife) gave birth to a handsome baby boy today at 3am. He is 9lbs 2oz! His name is Mckay Marler! (named after great grandpa Mckay Marler!)

Peach Days!

My Dad drives a semi for Autoliv and since none of the other drivers were willing to drive it in the parade for peach days my dad being the good man that he is volunteered to do it. Vance lucked out and got to ride with him and had a great time!

Labor Day!

We went camping with my family over labor day. We went up logan canyon to our annual camp ground, gueneva/malibu. We just weren't on top of it this year to get our great spot. The one we had wasn't bad it was just really dirty! lol go figure! We ended up going home on sunday night instead of monday due to the rain storm! Luckily we had almost everything packed up before the rain came!

We had a fun day at the salon on Thursday! We have just picked up a fun new way to enhance your toes! It's the Hot new thing! TWINKLE TOES! Glitter gel toes that can be worn anywhere from 6-8 weeks and are so sparkley!

****CAUTION!****

UTA had a big party for their employees on the 23 of July to celebrate Pioneer Day. Vance brought home a flyer that said he was suppose to dress up in western wear. He decided to dress up as a redneck instead! ha He had a blast at work that day! He even won a few prizes! It's a good thing i'm in love with him because these pictures are kind of scary! :) Vance has an awesome sense of humor!

I hope everybody had an enjoyable 4th of July! Vance and i sure did! We took my parents out to Plain City with us to watch what we like to call a redneck derby! just thinking about it makes me laugh! The main point is to be the last team in with a balloon still on your head! The team consists of a driver and a passanger on a fourweeler. the driver does just that, drives. The pasanger however has a helmet on his head with a balloon attatched and a fun noodle on a stick in their hand. put them all together and you can only guess what a funny site it is! (there is a video below!) We had a blast! We then went to Brigham and had dinner and went to the fireworks. It was the first year that Suesse has been with us so we thought it would be fun to take her to the fireworks! WRONG! as soon as they started going off she freaked out. i tried to hold her down. It took about all i had to do so. I ended up taking her back to my parent's house and missing the fireworks! :( there's always next year right! Once the fireworks were over we packed up and headed to Bear lake for the weekend. I got a few pictures (not the best) so here is a little look at our weekend!

it's finally here! A New Blog! ha ha! Vance & I just got home from a trip to Bear Lake for our 1st anniversary! Woo Hoo we made it! Everybody has seems to say that your first year of marriage is always your hardest...If that is what hard was suppose to be then keep the years coming! :) We only got a short weekend trip since Vance doesn't have vacation until November. grrr! We just relaxed at the cabin for a few days. We didn't even get in the water. With the spring being so cold it's not quite boating time for Bear Lake! We did however go and fish off of the doc's in the Marina....The pictures that follow show all the fun! I went for Quantity, Vance for Quality! Ha!

Okay so i am more than bad at keeping my page updated! I'M AWFUL! so I hope this gets us all up to date on what we have been doing!

Vance works for UTA and we got the chance to take our family on frontrunner before it opened to the pubic!

We put up the last section of fence! Our back yard is now completely fenced in!

We love to go to the Jazz games! we are both die hard fans!

We bought an armoiur to help keep our bills and computer stuff organized! It took Vance & Me 2 1/2 hours to put it together!

Suesse went into her first heat cycle and had to wear a diaper! ha

On memorial day we went to Brigham to the cemetary to my Grandma's grave!

Washer & Dryer!

My Washer and Dryer are finally ready to go! Let me tell you just how grateful i really am. Vance and i bought a washer and dryer from RC Willey during the after Thanksgiving day sale in 2006! They have been sitting in the garage of our home for the last year and a half....in their boxes! :(
The Plumbing wasn't done for where they were going to go in our basement. so in the mean time i hauled our laundry to one of our parent's houses on a weekly basis. Can you say frustrating! ahhh. My wonderful brother-in-law (Thanks Anthony!) came and helped Vance get it all ready for them to go in. Needless to say my washer and dryer are finally in and working wonderfully! YEA! (I must be married since i'm getting happy about my washer and dryer!)

What were you doing 10 years ago? I was in 7th grade at ACYI in Brigham City. My best friend Jessica Bunderson missed the whole year of school because she was very sick and the doctors couldn't decide what was wrong. (Ovarian Cysts) This is the year that Robyn Cordner and i became good friends!
